RSA has announced that Dave Howell, current chief auditor for the company, has been appointed as chief risk officer – with Yasemin Dogu, head of audit in UK & Europe, succeeding Howell as new chief auditor.

Howell has spent more than 20 years of his professional career with RSA; he started with the GeoRisk team, and later moved across the company’s audit function. He has held a number of senior management roles and has worked across the Canada, Scandinavia, the LatAm, and Asia regions. With a background in risk and environmental consultancy, Howell also holds degrees in law, applied geochemistry and environmental biogeochemistry. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance and Institute of Internal Audit.

Dogu has been a part of the RSA team since 2018. Prior to joining RSA, she was part of Aviva’s internal audit and finance unit for more than eight years. During that period, she was selected to take part in Aviva’s senior leadership programme “Finance Future Talent.” Dogu started her career with PwC in Turkey in 2004, where she trained to become a Chartered Accountant, later working for Marks & Spencer’s financial operations for Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine for three years.

For the year 2021, RSA posted preliminary financial results of £4.33 billion, before tax. The company is now part of Intact Financial Corporation.
