RSA unveils new commercial claims platform

The future of RSA may be in question after a recent takeover bid, but the company is refusing to let that stand in the way of its broker commitment.

Today it has launched a new first notification of loss platform, an online portal which will allow brokers to submit commercial FNOL’s on behalf of customers, digitally. It is meant to streamline the claim reporting process and has already undergone testing with a host of brokers since March this year.

Now, it is being made available to all brokers who have commercial customers impacted by weather-related events, accidental damage, escape of water, theft and other perils.

“This really is something built by brokers, for brokers as it was absolutely crucial that the technology and process works for them and their customers,” said Karl Helgessen, chief claims officer at RSA.

“Brokers can still submit claims by telephone or email, but we’ve heard loud and clear that a more sophisticated route is also what they’re after. The feedback we’ve received throughout the pilot has been really positive and we’re looking forward to talking to more brokers now the new platform is live.”

The platform can be accessed through RSA’s new broker website – rsainsurance.co.uk. It outlines what information is needed and brokers are asked to enter this detail from the outset to give claims handlers the best possible clarity and foresight. The hope is that this will remove the need for additional information requests and follow-ups.
