Burnley-based chartered insurance broker Thomas Sagar Insurance has announced the appointment of Neil Poulton (pictured) as managing director.
Poulton takes over from business founder John Meadows – who will remain involved with the Global Risk Partners (GRP)-owned firm in a client relationship management capacity – and will report to Neil Thornton, managing director of GRP Retail.

“Neil has a deep understanding of the particular needs and requirements of our clients and will be a steady hand as we navigate through the current hard market,” said Thornton. “I warmly welcome him to Sagars and am confident that with his leadership we will take the business forward to the next phase in its strategic journey.”
For his part, Poulton said that Sagars is “the leading brokerage in the East Lancashire area and I am very excited by the prospect of working alongside John to service our client base and grow the book.”
