Amid geopolitical uncertainty, international insurance underwriting business Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has created a dedicated aviation war team by appointing Will Green as divisional head of war within TMK’s wider aviation roster.

“We expect uncertainty to continue over the next few decades, which highlights the need for specialist war markets,” said aviation head David Slevin in an emailed release. “At TMK, we want to ensure that the market repositions itself and is robust enough to withstand increased geopolitical volatility.

“I’m delighted to welcome Will to the team.”

Extensive aviation experience

TMK and its new hire both have longstanding aviation expertise, with the company having written aviation business since 1976 and Green bringing more than 13 years of experience to his new role.

“I’m delighted to have joined TMK, a recognised leader in the Lloyd’s insurance market which offers the scale and strength that our clients need to manage the volatility we are seeing,” commented the new divisional head, who was underwriting manager for airline at AIG prior to his move to TMK.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to this dynamic team and building a successful and dedicated aviation war team.”

An aviation broker for seven years at Marsh, Green also held underwriting positions at Talbot Syndicate and Munich Re. TMK, meanwhile, is described as the biggest writer of aviation risks in the Lloyd’s market in terms of gross written premium.
