Verlingue launches London Market operations following rebrand

Verlingue has launched Verlingue London Markets, marking a significant development in the insurance brokerage following NBJ London Markets’ rebranding.

This initiative is accompanied by the onboarding of seasoned professionals, further broadening its market reach. The firm specialises in complex risk placements in sectors such as motor fleet, property, and liability. It also operates as a crucial intermediary for Verlingue UK and a network of independent brokers throughout the United Kingdom.

The team is being led by Barry Reynolds (pictured above), appointed as executive director. Reynolds brings an extensive background, with over three and a half decades immersed in London market insurance, most recently with the Jensten Group. His career also includes the establishment of the Tasker Group and extensive experience in broking and underwriting within the Lloyd's marketplace.

The corporate brokerage is also bolstering its leadership with strategic hires, which include Lucy Colleran, who takes up the role of broking manager after her stint at Citynet, and Simon Clegg, assuming the position of head of broker development following his tenure at Lonmar Global Risks. They are joined by Marc Smart, who has been appointed as head of motor, carrying with him a wealth of experience from senior roles at Zego and Covea.

This refreshed senior management lineup will complement the expertise of Grant Pye (head of property) and Andi Turner (head of casualty).

“NBJ London Markets is a well-known and respected part of our operation, and this rebrand is part of our overall strategy to build an exciting and capable business for our broking partners. It was a natural next step to bring the name more in line with our UK and European brand whilst retaining its distinct specialty. The name change is only a small part of the overall expansion of our business, as we have also made several new senior hires to further enhance our access to markets, technical capability, and exceptional service provision,” Verlingue UK CEO Mike Latham said.
