Zara Ismail (pictured), who was head of insurance business development at law firm RPC, has made the switch to Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) where she will serve as head of business development – claims (London).

“We are thrilled to announce Zara’s appointment,” Scott Kellers, head of London claims and deputy head of GRS (Global Risk Solutions) international claims, said in an emailed release. “Her wealth of experience in business development and extensive knowledge of working with claims will help us to achieve our objectives and support our clients, brokers, and the wider Lloyd‘s and London Market.

“How a claims function relates to clients old and new can be a crucial differentiator for carriers, and we look forward to working with Zara to maintain and grow momentum in our claims business development strategy.”

Ismail brings more than 15 years of experience in business development and client strategy in the legal and insurance sectors to LSM. She will be in charge of identifying, developing, and communicating strategies on how the claims function adds value while managing the LSM claims proposition and delivering an annual claims business development strategy.

Assuming the role with immediate effect, Ismail reports to Kellers and business development and market relationships head Mark Stephenson.
