Former National House-Building Council (NHBC) finance director Richard Tamayo has been appointed to CRL’s board.

Effective immediately, Tamayo is joining the construction insurance specialist as independent non-executive director. With more than two decades of experience in both construction and insurance, the latest board addition also served as finance director at the likes of Berkeley Homes.

“CRL has an exceptional reputation as a forward thinker in this sector, from championing bold and innovative small to medium builders and developers, to supporting the most well-known players within the industry,” noted Tamayo. “I’m looking forward to strengthening the company’s position and presence in the construction and developer market, to ensure it progresses to the next level of success.”

The construction insurance and warranty specialist arranges structural defects cover for timber frame constructions, prefabricated properties, mixed-use projects, conversions, and insolvent properties. It does so throughout the UK and Ireland either directly or via a customers’ preferred intermediary.

“We’re delighted to welcome Richard to the board and are certain that his appointment will play a valuable role in supporting and challenging CRL’s executive management,” commented chief executive Steve Mansour. “Richard’s vast experience and strong background knowledge in the industry will only serve to bolster our position as one of the leading construction insurance specialists for builders and developers of all sizes.”
