Munich Re unit HSB Engineering Insurance has elevated company veterans John Nicholls (pictured) and Jamie Talbot to new senior underwriting roles.

Nicholls, who joined HSB in 2005 as an underwriting assistant after being with Aviva, is moving up from his position as underwriting manager for the Central region to construction product lead within the underwriting strategy and standards team. As construction product lead, his more than 15 years of industry experience will contribute to the development and implementation of HSB’s underwriting strategy.

Meanwhile ex-RSA executive Talbot has been appointed as regional underwriting manager for Central and South after serving as senior underwriter from 2016. His 12 years of experience in insurance includes the time spent at HSB since coming onboard in 2009 as an assistant underwriter.

“The years of experience and amount of specialist underwriting knowledge both John and Jamie bring to their roles are incredibly valuable to the business and our customers,” commented managing director Steve Worrall. “I wish to congratulate both of them on their new appointments”.

Nicholls will report to underwriting strategy manager Andy Bazley while Talbot will be under regional manager for Central and South Rob King.
