Gallagher has named Martin Hiller (pictured) as chief executive officer of its specialty construction practice.

As CEO, Hiller will lead the broker’s London-based UK and international teams. He had been serving as chairman of the practice since 2017. Before joining Gallagher, Hiller spent most of his career at JLT, where he was a founding member of the company’s construction practice. At JLT, Hiller later moved on to be CEO of the company’s construction practice and CEO of JLT Specialty.

“Gallagher’s growth in this sector over the last five years has been impressive and the platform that has been established over this period provides continuity and confidence to our clients and stakeholders,” commented Hiller on his appointment. “Our focus on client service together with broking abilities in the current hard market resonates with clients, prospects and insurers and I look forward to continuing to build and develop the team and deliver on our growth plans.”

“I am delighted Martin has taken on the role of CEO for our construction practice. We have a significant presence in the sector, and it continues to be an area of expansion for Gallagher,” stated Gallagher Specialty CEO Jonathan Turner.

Turner added that Gallagher Specialty is investing in its team, and that Martin will be an “excellent leader” thanks to his sector knowledge and experience.

“The appointment further demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our clients have access to the very best people available,” said Turner.
