HSB, a Munich Re specialist insurer in engineering and technology, has announced that it has appointed Ross Tyler (pictured right) and Sharon Evans (pictured left) as business development managers, joining the company’s business development team.

Both Tyler and Evans will focus on implementing the company’s sales strategies in all its distribution channels to support its objectives and growth ambitions, a release said. They will aid in building and maintaining HSB’s strong relationships with brokers, growing the engineering insurance and inspection business portfolios, overseeing the renewal of key accounts, and negotiating new business opportunities.

Tyler has more than seven years of insurance experience. Based primarily in East Anglia and the Home Counties, he has worked across all commercial lines areas, including property and casualty, fleet, construction and inspection.

Meanwhile, Evans has over 30 years of experience in insurance. Based in Yorkshire and the North East, her career includes experience in broking, underwriting, and sales across brokers, MGAs, and insurance carriers.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ross and Sharon to the business development team,” said HSB director of sales Paul Kay. “With a wealth of experience and knowledge of the market, they will be key in helping HSB achieve its strategic goals and sales objectives and I look forward to working closely with them to achieve our business growth ambitions.”

In July, HSB established a new commercial division that combines its business development, underwriting, and claims teams. The new division is meant to offer an enhanced proposition to brokers, insurers, and MGAs.
