Global specialty insurance provider Thomas Miller Specialty has established a new construction business.

The new Thomas Miller Specialty Construction (TMSC) unit will build on Thomas Miller’s years of expertise within latent defect insurance and will operate exclusively on a broker distribution model. TMSC will deliver a “market leading latent defect offering” for mixed use and tenure developments within the UK, a company release said.

Although the new unit will handle all things construction-related, Thomas Miller explained that technical services to support underwriters with risk management and consultancy services will continue to be provided through an in-house risk solutions company.

“I am delighted to announce the launch of Thomas Miller Specialty Construction.  TMSC has been created to focus on mixed use and tenure developments and will draw on a wealth of experience as well as strong broker and client relationships built up over more than two decades,” said Thomas Miller Specialty CEO Danielle Champion.
