Specialty insurer Brit has announced the appointment of Tim Hodgkins as cyber underwriting consultant. Hodgkins reports to Ben Maidment, head of global cyber, privacy and technology.

Prior to joining Brit, Hodgkins served as senior security consultant at SureCloud, where he focused on reducing risk across the technology landscape of financial services businesses. He began his career at PwC, first serving in the company’s technology risk and digital audit division and then becoming a senior consultant for cybersecurity.

In his newly created role, Hodgkins will provide technical risk management advice and insight into emerging cyber threats to support Brit’s internal and external stakeholders, the company said.

“The cyber landscape is constantly evolving, with new thinking and expertise essential in remaining on the front foot,” said Jonathan Mudd, managing director of financial and professional lines at Brit. “At Brit, we are committed to continually furthering our offering through meaningful investment, and the creation of this new role will help equip our clients and our people as best as possible when faced with the changing risks in the market.

“Tim’s technical background makes him an excellent fit for this role, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the team as we continue to expand our cyber offering.”
