The UK unit of HDI Global SE has set up a new marine cargo business line to be led by underwriting director Steve Foreman.

HDI UK’s director of marine cargo underwriting will come onboard on April 01, bringing nearly three decades of experience from RSA where he worked until 2020 and most recently managed the insurer’s European cargo portfolio.

“I am delighted to be joining HDI who have a strong history and presence in cargo in Europe as well as globally,” said Foreman, “and am looking forward to providing the same high quality cargo proposition to our UK brokers and clients.”

According to the company, establishing the new business line signifies its continued investment in widening product offerings for corporate industrial clients.

HDI UK & Ireland managing director Claire McDonald commented: “We are delighted to welcome Steve into HDI; his wealth of experience will be critical in establishing this new product line in our branch in the UK.

“We will be seeking to leverage the existing international programme and marine cargo expertise that exists within the group to deliver exceptional service to our clients and brokers.”
