Leeds-based Fiducia, the specialist cargo MGA, has continued its expansion with the appointment of a new underwriter who used to head a local trade body.
Lance Carter (pictured) is joining the firm to underwrite cargo and freight business. He is the former chairman of the Leeds Marine Insurance Association.
“Lance is a respected market professional and brings a wealth of experience to the business,” said Fiducia CEO Gerry Sheehy.
“In addition, he has considerable IT expertise which will be invaluable as we build and enhance our service platform to brokers.”
Sheehy, a veteran of the UK marine market of more than 30 years, will be adding new employees over the coming months, recruiting experienced specialists from leading insurers.
“We are creating a team which can meet the needs of both the brokers and their clients,” he said.
