The Insurance Centre joins Alan Boswell Group

Mergers & Acquisitions

Alan Boswell Group (ABG) has acquired Norwich-based broker The Insurance Centre.

To ensure seamless client service under the ABG umbrella, the entire workforce of The Insurance Centre will be integrated into the group’s head office at Prospect House (pictured) in Norwich.

“I’m pleased to welcome The Insurance Centre into ABG,” Alan Boswell, ABG’s executive chair, commented when the acquisition was announced. “As soon as we met Stuart, we knew the team would be a great fit for us.”

Boswell was referring to Stuart Burgess, managing director of The Insurance Centre.

“With years of expertise and a shared ethos, they align seamlessly with our values,” he added. “We look forward to welcoming the team to Prospect House.”

Burgess, whose camp specialises in taxi and driving schools’ insurance, expressed excitement as well.

“We are excited to join Alan Boswell Group and continue providing our clients with the same level of care and dedication they have come to expect,” the MD said. “By becoming part of a larger brokerage, we can leverage their extensive resources and expertise to enhance the value we provide to our clients.”

For ABG, the consolidation of resources means enhanced service offering and a smooth transition for clients of The Insurance Centre. Aside from its Norwich headquarters, four-decade-old ABG also has offices in Bury St Edmunds, Peterborough, Grimsby, Boston, and Cambridge.

Meanwhile, following the swoop, it’s unclear whether The Insurance Centre will get to keep its current branding. Last year, S-Tech Insurance Services in Cambridge was rebranded to Alan Boswell Group after it was acquired in 2016.

At the time, branch director Mike Greenland said: “The rebrand is a change in name only – it’s still the same people with the same ethos and personal service.”
