Ansvar Insurance has appointed David Eccles as head of distribution.

Before making the switch to Ansvar, Eccles accumulated diverse experience in the areas of charity, SME, and pet insurance, besides his stint at an insurtech. Spanning more than two decades, the distribution expert’s credentials include roles at Zurich Municipal, Expression Insurance, and Markerstudy Insurance.

In his new capacity, Eccles is set to guide the sales and marketing departments at Ansvar during a significant phase of growth and development. He aims to bolster Ansvar’s reputation as the preferred insurer for the third sector by driving innovation, simplifying processes, and enhancing commercial offerings.

Part of the charity-owned Benefact Group, Ansvar aligns with the group’s mission as one of the UK’s top corporate donors. The affiliation underscores Ansvar’s commitment to the charitable sector.

Eccles expressed his enthusiasm about his new remit, stating: “I’m delighted to have joined Ansvar and the Benefact Group. Being part of an organisation that gives all available profits to charities and good causes is truly inspiring.

“I’m looking forward to meeting our distribution partners and the thousands of charities we insure.”

Eccles’ leadership is expected to strengthen Ansvar’s market position by focussing on strategic partnerships and extending support to a wide range of charitable organisations.
