This year it’s the turn of YoungMinds to benefit from AXA’s charitable initiatives.

The mental health advocate, which became the insurer’s new charity partner in the UK effective in April following a vote by employees, will be the beneficiary of AXA Charity Cycle 2019 – the fifth edition of the cycling event happening on July 19.

A JustGiving page for the charity bike ride is now up, with a £5,000 fundraising target. Participating AXA staff will cycle from Weybridge to Tunbridge Wells and back.

“Following on from the previous four years of success we’re taking the bike ride to Tunbridge Wells – 110 miles in one day, now that’s a challenge,” stated AXA on the donations page. “This will be a beautiful but challenging ride through the Surrey Hills, which includes the famous Leith and Box Hills for good measure.”

Over the last 12 months workers at the major insurer have raised more than £80,000 for the benefit of Alzheimer’s Research UK and Mind. Partnerships with these charities ended on March 31.

“We are delighted to have been chosen by AXA’s employees as their charity of the year and are very grateful to have the support of their fantastic organisation,” commented YoungMinds chief executive Emma Thomas in an earlier statement.

“Their generosity will help us continue our vital work fighting for the mental health of children and young people across the UK, and we are very much looking forward to working with them over the next year.”
