The Ecclesiastical and Benefact Group's Movement for Good Awards, now in its sixth year, is set to provide charitable organizations across the UK and Ireland with the opportunity to receive a £1,000 donation in 2024.

The initiative, which has been a recurrent feature since its inception in 2019, has contributed over £5 million to various charities in the region.

Starting today, individuals are invited to nominate charities for the awards online at the awards’ site. The selection of winners will be conducted through a random draw, with the likelihood of a charity being chosen increasing with the number of nominations it receives.

In addition to the standard awards, the Movement for Good Awards will include special draws targeting specific sectors. Charities operating within these sectors can be nominated for a larger grant of £5,000. The schedule for these special draws and announcements of donations will be available on the Movement for Good website.

Benefact Group, known for its substantial charitable contributions, has donated over £200 million to various causes since 2014. In the previous year, it was recognised as the third largest corporate donor in the UK. The group has set a goal to increase its donations to £250 million by 2025.

“Thanks to the support of our broker partners and customers, we’ve helped to donate more than £5million to charities through the Movement for Good Awards. This year, we’re encouraging even more people to nominate good causes close to their hearts. As part of Benefact Group’s family of businesses, our charitable purpose makes us so much more than an insurance company.

“We’re proud of our reputation as one of the most trusted insurers in our markets, and of the positive impact we make on society. It’s thanks to our brokers and customers placing business with us which enables us to give all our available profits to good causes,” Ecclesiastical managing director Richard Coleman said.
