Global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker Ed has announced the appointment of a new chief actuary.

Jonathan Tilman will take on the role, beginning the last quarter of 2017. He joins from Charles Taylor Managing Agency where he served as chief actuary, and brings thirty years’ of London market experience – including two decades at executive management level – to his new role.

As head of actuarial, Tilman will be responsible for establishing a global actuarial and analytics capability at Ed. Prior to his time at Charles Taylor, Tilman held the role of EVP & chief actuary of the insurance division at Axis Capital, and has also held senior actuarial roles at Tillinghast Towers Perrin and Guy Carpenter. He began his career in 1986 at The Hartford.
