Guy Carpenter founded his company in 1922 then proposed a merger with cotton insurance brokers Henry W. Marsh and Donald R. McLennan a year later.
Throughout the years, Guy Carpenter & Company LLC has delivered a combination of broking expertise, strategic advisory, and data & analytics services to help clients solve complex risk management challenges and achieve profitable growth.
The company became the first integrated analysis platform to support customers’ reinsurance and capital decisions. Peter Hearn – President and CEO
Hearn is the president and chief executive officer of Guy Carpenter and a member of the Marsh & McLennan Companies executive committee. He has served numerous senior leadership roles throughout his career, mostly at Willis Re.
He joined Willis Re as a senior vice president in January 1994 to lead its Philadelphia office then stepped up to the eastern regional manager role in October 1994, executive vice president in 1997, and the president of Willis Re in 2002. He eventually served as the company’s global CEO from 2005 to March 2011 until he became the global chairman of Willis Re from March 2011 to June 2015.
