The insurance technology firm VIPR has bolstered its leadership panel with the appointment of Martin Blackburn (pictured) to the role of chairman. With a career that spans over 25 years, Blackburn brings experience in working with a range of organisations, from start-ups to scale-ups to multinational entities.

According to a VIPR Press release, among the credits to Blackburn’s name is the pivotal role he played in overseeing European operation markets at EDS before he transitioned to IBM, heading up its global technology business in Europe before moving into the private equity space.

Blackburn is currently the chairman at VIPR, LRQA, Omada, Plandek, and Simplify.

Commenting on his decision to join VIPR, Blackburn said: "It’s the perfect timing for me to team up with VIPR as their chairman. The VIPR value proposition attracted me, and I believe, given my experience, I can support the business to grow faster. VIPR chose me as much as I chose VIPR."

Paul Templar, founder and CEO of VIPR, also commented on Blackburn's appointment, and highlighted that his “extensive background and understanding of the sector will provide a significant boost to the company's growth trajectory.”
