Tammy Richardson is taking on a wider remit at Willis Towers Watson’s insurance consulting and technology business.

After most recently serving as leader of the UK property and casualty (P&C) team within the same unit, Richardson is now UK and Ireland leader for life and P&C. Replacing her in the previous role is Stephen Jones, the brokerage giant’s UK head of P&C pricing, claims, product, and underwriting.

“I am excited to be taking on this new role at a time when the rate of change for the insurance industry is unlike anything we’ve seen before,” commented Richardson, who has more than 25 years of industry experience. “This brings with it new challenges, but also many new opportunities – particularly in the space of artificial intelligence and automation.

“I look forward to continuing to work with our talented insurance consulting and technology team to deliver solutions that will help our clients to quickly adapt and transform their operations in order to take advantage of emerging opportunities for profitable growth.”

Commenting on the appointment, which is effective immediately, Colin Forrest cited the need for insurers to balance a wide range of competing demands and risks amid rapidly changing technological capabilities.

“Tammy has the business leadership skills, deep industry experience, and breadth of knowledge to lead the UK and Ireland team successfully over the coming years as this period of market disruption presents us with ever-evolving opportunities and challenges,” said the regional leader for Europe, Middle East, and Africa in Willis Towers Watson’s insurance consulting and technology business.
