Hello everyone and welcome to the latest edition of insurance business TV brought to you in association with Crawford. This is a very special edition of IB TV as we had the pleasure of catching up with Crawford's president for the UK and Ireland, Lisa Bartlett to discuss one of the hottest industry issues today, the war on talent. In this exclusive interview, she explains the best ways to not only bring new talent into a company, but to keep hold of that talent, too. Let's take it over to Lisa Bartlett from Crawford now.

The first thing we're focusing on is employee retention, we have a wide range of roles available a cool third, some focusing on moving talent around the business. A key part of that is technical training, where we're really leveraging our profit Academy to develop technical skills. The second thing we're really focusing on is really bringing to life our flexible working programs, and making sure that those with carrying responsibilities can balance work, and home life. And finally, we have also developed earlier career programs and social mobility programs where we are looking to bring diverse talent into the call for business. And finally, for those of the end of their careers or nearing retirement, we are offering flexible work programs to retain the technical expertise in the business and have them become a part of upskilling the younger generation.

Lisa Bartlett  05:05:51

We're really focused on employee retention right now. And I'm really proud to say that our employee retention rate is the lowest it's been for some time. Alongside that our internal promotion rate is the highest it has been how we are doing that is by focusing on secondments and creating a comfortable environment for people to move around the business rather than seek employment elsewhere. Alongside that we're investing heavily in technical training. Our call for to Academy is alive and well while we are really devoting really structured training plans and career pathways to help people get to the next level.

Lisa Bartlett  05:06:31

So we're trying to do a much better job of showcasing all of the roles that are available within korfin. So both internally and externally. We are starting with intern programs which we've had some success. We've also launched our first apprenticeship program and social mobility programs. We are looking to broaden the range of talent that we bring into the corporate business.
