Melbourne-headquartered National Insurance Group is now sporting a “softer touch” branding with its new logo and website, and here managing director Chris Park (pictured) shares what’s behind the identity shift.

“We initially came from a corporate background, and our branding very much represented that,” said the former Marsh executive who set up National Insurance Group in 2015. “It wasn’t a true reflection of our current business and target client.

“Given our presence in not only Melbourne metro but regional Victoria and Tasmania, we wanted to have a more appealing brand to our target and existing clients that had a softer touch with a less corporate feel in our marketing.”

The company’s website – which can now be accessed via its new address, nationalinsurance.com.au – also features online forms spanning proposals and claims.

Park told Insurance Business: “One of our goals is to make the whole insurance process as streamlined and easy as possible for clients, and we are constantly looking at ways to improve our current processes and procedures.

“The old way of transacting certain insurance classes was to send someone an application form they’ve printed out, manually completed, scanned it, and sent it back. Now you’re going to do that all online.”

The year is looking to be a period of change for the brokerage, which welcomed 2021 as a corporate authorised representative of McLardy McShane Partners.

Aside from its offices in Richmond and Torquay, National Insurance Group is also gearing up to announce a Tasmania location – details of which will soon be available on the firm’s brand-new website.
