“The resilience of these Australian communities has been tested before, in recent times through drought, and now these devastating widespread bush and grass fires,” said Tim Howell, head of propositions at Zurich Life and Investments. “We are grateful that there has been no loss of life as yet, although with the damage to homes and livelihoods expected to be into the hundreds, Zurich appreciates that impact extends further than just a loss of assets. Whilst waiving their life insurance premiums will not bring back what has been lost, we hope it eases some of the financial burden they are facing as the rebuilding begins.”

The offer will remain open until November 30.
