Two new members will join the board of the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) in the coming weeks, announced ACC board chair Paula Rebstock.

Mark Cross will join the board on August 01, followed by David Hunt on September 01, a statement from the company said. The pair will begin shortly after Rebstock retires on July 31, to be succeeded by Steve Maharey.

Cross has more than 20 years of international expertise in corporate finance. He is a non-executive director of Xero, Chorus, and Z Energy, as well as chair of Milford Asset Management.

Meanwhile, Hunt is already an external independent member of the ACC Board Investment Committee. He is a former chief executive of Contact Energy. Since 2006, Hunt has been a consulting director of Concept Consulting Group, specialising in providing advice on carbon, energy and utility sector-issues for governments and business in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

“Mark and David bring a wealth of governance experience to the ACC Board and we look forward to their collective contribution,” Rebstock said.
