Keith Frampton, who sadly passed away earlier this year, will be replaced by A-Plan Group group compliance officer Jonathan Cumpstey (pictured right) as chair of the motor panel at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA).

Cumpstey has been with the panel since 2013 and was deputy chair from 2017. Succeeding him as deputy chair is One Call chief executive Nik Springthorpe (pictured left).

“It is an honour to accept the role,” said the new motor panel chair. “Keith did a fantastic job chairing the panel and did so much sterling work on behalf of members. I’m keen to continue that work and honour the commitment and dedication that he gave to BIBA members for so long.”

Springthorpe, meanwhile, acknowledged the “so many issues” currently being faced by the motor insurance market. Citing a busy agenda, he stated: “But we’re all focussed and have adapted well as a committee to the new remote way of working – I’m looking forward to taking on the role of deputy chair.”

BIBA executive director Graeme Trudgill is “delighted” that the duo will continue to contribute greatly to the success of the motor panel, this time in their new capacity.

“The motor panel provides a crucial arena for brokers to contribute and shape our engagement with the issues affecting motor insurance today and future developments such as autonomous vehicles, new mobility solutions, and vehicle ownership and use trends,” added Trudgill.
