Estelle Machell, who was with Clyde & Co for nine years before leaving in 2013, has made a comeback.

Returning to the global law firm as a partner within the casualty insurance team, Machell has made the move from Keoghs. Her expertise spans large loss catastrophic injury and major bodily injury cases, and she is experienced in advising on indemnity issues as well as working with insurer clients on motor, employers’ liability, public liability, and agricultural claims.

“I am really pleased to be coming back to Clyde & Co and its highly regarded personal injury defendant practice,” said Machell, who has joined the unit in Manchester.

“The team’s international offering and breadth of services provide an opportunity to service insurer and customer clients alike with a full spectrum of legal services. I look forward to hitting the ground running and contributing to the team’s growth and success in the coming years.”

Clyde & Co describes its UK casualty practice as one of the largest in Britain, given its more than 40 partners across 10 offices.

Commenting on the development, Clyde & Co partner Chris Murray stated: “Estelle is widely recognised as a market leader in the defendant personal injury space, having developed a strong profile and thriving practice in recent years.

“She brings experience of handling a complex caseload and expertise in claims of utmost severity, which will further strengthen the casualty group’s capabilities in this space. We are delighted to welcome her back to the team.”
