It’s been a period of rapid growth for Manchester-based Principal Insurance.
The firm has announced it will double the size of its headquarters in Sale, just eight months after relocating the business to its new office.
As of May, the firm will take the second floor of Citygate, having originally opted for just the third floor of the newly refurbished building last September after outgrowing its former home at Dalton House.
According to a report by Insider Media, contractors are working on the site currently in an effort to fit out the additional 6,555sq ft of office space that will be used by the firm’s back-office and administrative staff. It is also set to play home to the company’s commercial insurance division.

“Trading has been impressively robust across the board with our recently established van and commercial lines performing particularly well,” managing director Dave Bowcock told the publication. “Even we’ve been caught a little by surprise at the sheer pace of that growth.”
When it moved to its new home in Sale it announced plans to establish 40 new jobs – something it has already surpassed with over 70 staff at its headquarters. Now it is set to add a further six next month.
