Do you have clients who own microcars? Then as brokers who drive home the importance of getting more than just the minimum required third-party insurance, you might be interested to know that, it turns out, that type of vehicle is more likely to be a victim of vandalism than all others.

Citing 2013-2017 claims data analysed by insurer Churchill, Which? reported the car brands most at risk of being vandalised – a list topped by Smart cars, with more than one out of 100 registered owners filing a claim annually. Next in line is compact car maker Mini, with one in every 1,000 owners making vandalism claims each year.    

The top two are followed by brands Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mazda, Peugeot, Saab, Fiat, Mercedes, and Citroën.

According to the report, an average of 2,000 vandalism claims are made in the UK on a monthly basis.
