“The Higos team is excited by the opportunity to partner with a carrier that truly understands our business, and wants to improve outcomes for clients by developing new products and services, including on the claims side, where we intend to plug into Allianz’s first-class claims operation.”

Higos Insurance Services managing director Neil Thornton had this to say when the South West-based broker announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Allianz Insurance. Effective immediately, the latter will be providing not only increased support but also enhanced propositions for Higos’s SME and mid-market commercial clients.

The two parties’ collaboration, which was expanded following a tender exercise, involves what Thornton described as a profitable portfolio set for further growth.

“We are delighted with the continued support shown for our business by Allianz and our other insurer partners, and we look forward to building strongly on existing trading relationships,” he said.

Higos, which has been trading since 1990, was acquired by Global Risk Partners in 2017. It has a regional footprint across the South West of England.

“We are very pleased our existing relationship with Higos continues to develop and strengthen,” commented Sarah Mallaby, director of broker markets at Allianz. “Supporting high-performing regional brokers that are focused on service and advice for the benefit of customers is a key element of our strategy.”
