Allianz UK has extended its partnership with the British Paralympic Association through 2020, according to a news release.

Allianz UK and the BPA partnered in January as the British team completed their final preparation for the Rio Games. The extension of the partnership complements Allianz SE Group’s support of the International Paralympic Committee, which also runs through 2020.

“Allianz UK will support the BPA with their crucial preparations for Pyeongchang and Tokyo, ensuring that the most competitive ParalympicsGB team is ready to compete on the biggest stage in disability sport and to inspire and engage the nation through their performances on the field of play,” the release said.

“We are delighted to announce that we will continue to partner with the BPA through until 2020,” said John Dye, chief executive of Allianz Insurance. “With ParalympicsGB’s tremendous performance at Rio 2016, the success of our brand-building programme and Allianz’s continued support at the international level, it was an easy decision to continue our support. The 2016 partnership was incredibly popular with colleagues and we are very proud to continue the association.”

“Allianz have very much established themselves as part of the Paralympic family here in the UK through their work with us, a team of athlete ambassadors and their broadcast partnership with Channel 4,” said Tim Hollingsworth, chief executive of the BPA. “We are delighted to continue to develop this relationship as we look toward Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.”
