Allianz Global Assistance announces key hire

Latest addition to the firm’s UK team will help develop new products and business opportunities

A highly experienced insurance retailer, wholesaler underwriter, and regional insurance broker has joined Allianz Global Assistance UK as proposition development manager.

In the newly created role, Jonathan Britton will be responsible for the research and development of new products and business opportunities, as well as the enhancement of existing products, for the company’s financial and automotive clients and new distribution channels.

Britton brings to the company 29 years of industry experience in various sectors of insurance, financial, and the commercial services markets. He has held several senior management roles, including product and partnership manager at Neilson Financial Services; and sales and marketing director at Brokers2Brokers PLC and First Active Insurance Ltd, as well as being a Lloyd’s broker.

Britton’s appointment is a key part of Allianz Global Assistance UK’s wider investment in its market management team, led by Claire McKinnon, director of market management.

McKinnon commented: “We are thrilled at the appointment of Jonathan. He has a fantastic wealth of experience in both the insurer and broker arenas, creating new products and services as well as organizing capacity to ensure their effective implementation and distribution. His work across the insurance and financial sectors make[s] him an exciting addition to the Allianz Global Assistance UK team.”
