Arch Insurance International has appointed Jason Page (pictured) as a senior underwriter for hull & war, only two weeks after it rolled out its new marine insurance offering.

Page is a technical underwriter with over 30 years of insurance experience, including over two decades in the marine insurance sector. Before joining Arch Insurance, he spent 25 years with Markel, where he was appointed as head of hull & war at Markel Syndicate Management Limited in 2017.

In the new role, Page will be responsible for underwriting activities across Arch Insurance’s hull & war insurance portfolio. He will also focus on expanding the company’s market standing and enhancing its product and service capabilities.

“Arch has become a considerable force in the marine sector, and I am delighted to be joining the company. I am looking forward to helping continue our growth momentum and further enhancing the service and solutions that we provide to our brokers and their clients,” Page said.

Page will be based in London and join the marine hull, war, & cargo division led by Mark Watters. He will report to Jake Gibbs, the head of marine & energy at Arch Insurance.

Commenting on his appointment, Gibbs said: “In recent years, Arch has achieved strong growth across our marine portfolio. Hull & war is a complex line of business that demands a technical, data-driven, underwriting approach. Jason brings vast sector experience and industry knowledge, and is a great addition to the team.”
