There is a new associate member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI), with international law firm Kennedys earning the accolade.

Kennedys specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance and liability industries, across 26 offices in the UK and Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas; acting for insurers, reinsurers, Lloyd’s Syndicates, public bodies and corporates.

“Insurance is Kennedys’ core business and this membership underlines our commitment to the sector,” said Richard West, head of Kennedys’ liability division. “It will enable us to build closer connections with key industry stakeholders and debate important issues and developments affecting the industry. Kennedys is a firm that is committed to influencing the development of law and key issues impacting our client base. We welcome the opportunity to work closely with the ABI and their members.”

The ABI’s Associate Membership category was developed to enable non-insurance companies to join the ABI, such as those helping insurers deliver their services. Associate members benefit from services including access to the full range of ABI statistics, industry updates, thought leadership work, networking opportunities and reduced rates for ABI events. ABI director Huw Evans believes that Kennedys is a good fit.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kennedys as our latest associate member,” he said. “As experts in insurance law, they work frequently with our members and this will ensure their links with industry continue to strengthen.”
