Aston Lark has acquired the client book of Choice Benefits, a private medical insurance specialist.

Following the announcement of Aston Lark’s acquisition by industry giant Howden in October, the chartered insurance broker and employee benefits advisor has continued to bring companies into its fold, such as Innovation Broking and Philip Williams & Co. last month. Aston Lark has made more than 40 acquisitions since it was formed in 2018 by the merger of Aston Scott Group and Lark Group.

Lancashire-based Choice Benefits was established in 2015 by Terry Shelbourne. It provides domestic and international private medical insurance, as well as related products such as business travel insurance, key man insurance, critical illness cover and employee assistance programmes.

“We're proud of our client-centric approach and the excellent level of service we provide to each of our clients,” Shelbourne said. “Aston Lark are a great organisation and I'm delighted that my clients will be serviced by a company that puts the same high emphasis on the customer. From our clients' perspective, I'm excited for the potential to benefit from the great range of products and propositions that Aston Lark has access to.”

“We’re delighted to welcome the clients of Choice Benefits into Aston Lark,” said Peter Blanc, CEO of Aston Lark Group. “We have seen tremendous growth in our employee benefits business in 2021, both through acquisition and organic growth, on the back of increasing volumes of cross-sales across the group. This ability to ’join the dots’ and offer a full range of solutions to our personal and business customers is a key strength of our group.”
