AXA XL has announced that Anthony Dagostino, global chief cyber underwriting officer for commercial lines, will be leaving the company to return to the cyber market business, according to a report by AM Bestt.

Dagostino joined AXA XL in August 2023 and played a key role in establishing the company's cyber center of expertise. This initiative was aimed at leveraging AXA's collective cyber expertise to develop advanced capabilities to help clients manage evolving cyber risks.

Before joining AXA XL, Dagostino founded Converge, a cyber insurance and risk management provider. With more than 20 years of experience in cyber insurance, he led an AXA-wide team focused on creating product and service solutions for cyber risk transfer for commercial clients.

His responsibilities included establishing a clear risk appetite, creating globally consistent cyber underwriting guidelines, managing aggregation risk, recruiting and developing cyber talent, and developing prevention and recovery services for clients.

In June, AXA XL reorganized its insurance underwriting operations in the Americas, aligning them under three business segments: large commercial, mid-market, and professional.

In other recent developments, AXA XL has also announced that it selected Clearwater Analytics to support part of its investment portfolio.

AXA XL's alternative capital team explained that it selected Clearwater for its reliability, accuracy, and ability to meet complex accounting and regulatory needs, including customized general ledger entries.

In May, AXA XL also announced that Matthew V. O’Malley was appointed to the role of chief client & distribution officer for the Americas.

As the firm’s new chief client & distribution officer for the Americas, O’Malley will be overseeing the firm’s US zonal teams, Canada and Bermuda country distribution, client engagement, broker engagement, and marketing activities in the region. He will also be fostering long-term partnerships by working with clients and distribution partners.
