Louise Kidd has moved up at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) as Ireland country manager.

The promoted executive, who at the same time is retaining her role as third-party lines head in Ireland, succeeds Hilary Bowne. The latter became UK & Europe regional executive late last year.

Based in BHSI’s office in Dublin, Kidd came onboard the specialty insurer in 2020 after spending 17 years at AIG.

“Louise has been an excellent leader to our team in Ireland and solution-provider to our customers and brokers throughout Europe,” commented BHSI UK & Europe head Chris Colahan.

“We are pleased to recognise her excellent contributions with this promotion which will enable her to have an even greater impact on our team and the marketplace.”
