Bissell and Partners Ltd has received authorised status as an independent boutique Lloyd’s insurance broker.

Founded in 2016, the company handles and advises on complex risks on a global scale. It specialises in bespoke re/insurance solutions while focusing on a client-centric approach.

Chief executive officer Chris Bissell spoke about the authorised status and Lloyd’s broker accreditation in an emailed statement, referring to this new development as “a huge career goal.”

“I am thrilled to announce our newly authorised status as an independent Lloyd’s Insurance broker,” he said. “This achievement reflects our dedication to providing our clients with unparalleled service and access to the most comprehensive insurance solutions available.”

Bissell and Partners’ chief executive has over 10 years of Lloyd’s and London Market experience in both underwriting and broking. His father, John Bissell, serves as the firm’s non-executive director.

John Bissell was previously the chief operating officer at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). He has more than 35 years of experience in global insurance, having spent time with some of the industry’s biggest names. He also currently serves as executive director of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA), a role which he began in July 2023.

With its new status and accreditation, Bissell and Partners is set to build on its recent successes and continue offering bespoke insurance solutions worldwide.

The company has made strides by insuring a high-profile floating dry dock, securing event cancellation insurance for world-renowned musical groups, and devising reinsurance solutions to safeguard flag carrier airlines around the globe, among other specialised offerings.

In separate news, last month, SOCAR Sigorta ve Reasürans Brokerliği (SOCAR Broker), a subsidiary of SOCAR Türkiye, also received authorisation to operate as an accredited Lloyd’s broker. It became the fourth institution in Turkey to receive a Lloyd’s license.
