Major global insurance carrier Chubb has appointed Tressie Norton as transactional risk senior underwriter for the UK and Ireland.

In her new role, Norton will contribute to the development and profitable growth of Chubb’s transactional risk product portfolio.

Based in London, Norton will report to Grant Cairns, UK and Ireland financial lines manager for Chubb.

Norton’s appointment, which is effective immediately, comes as Chubb continues to expand its insurance capabilities in the area of transactional risk.

It also follows the recent appointment of Richard Britain as head of transactional risk insurance for Chubb’s overseas general insurance division.

"Tressie's extensive market knowledge and underwriting experience will be instrumental in the success of our transactional risk product roll-out in the UK market and will ensure that we anticipate and cover our clients' needs in this increasingly important area of risk,” Britain said.

Since 2012, Norton has been the senior financial lines underwriter for Chubb, where she was responsible for underwriting large multinational insurance programmes.

Norton was also involved in building client relationships and policy wording negotiations and development.

Norton started her career in 2004 at Lander & Rogers in Melbourne, where she worked as a solicitor in the insurance litigation group.

She later served as a senior claims examiner at AIG Australian and at Chubb in 2009, when she managed a portfolio of complex financial lines claims.
