Janet Edey, who was with AIG for one and a half decades from 1989, is now Chubb’s management liability head for the UK and Ireland.

Reporting to Chubb UK & Ireland financial lines manager Hilda Toh, the 30-year industry veteran will be in charge of leading and overseeing the development and execution of the insurer’s management liability strategy. This includes directors’ and officers’ liability, pension trustee liability, employment practices liability, crime, initial public offering liability, and kidnap and ransom.

The major hire also spent time at the likes of HCC, Novae Syndicates Limited, Pen Underwriting UK, and AmTrust at Lloyd’s – serving in various positions such as professional lines head, technical underwriting director, head of specialty, and management liability unit head.

Toh described her as “a seasoned insurance practitioner” with strong leadership skills that will prove beneficial in a challenging market.

With a workforce of approximately 31,000 people, Chubb operates in 54 countries and territories.

Across Europe the insurance giant trades through Chubb European Group and ACE Europe Life, which have recently become Societas Europaea (SE) companies in preparation for Brexit. Subject to Chubb fulfilling certain administrative requirements by the end of the year, Chubb European Group SE and ACE Europe Life SE can redomicile to France come January 01.
