Lawrence Watts, who came onboard insurance and assistance provider Collinson in 2014, has been appointed as head of insurance.

“We are delighted that Lawrence is now leading our insurance division,” said joint chief executive David Evans, who described Watts as “ideally placed” to take on the role amid the unit’s expansion not only within but also beyond Europe.

Evans noted: “Lawrence will continue to drive our ongoing strategy to deliver a customer-centric approach across product design, delivery, and service provision.

“His knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in helping us to continue to drive clearer responsibilities and accountabilities and to roll out further some of the exciting new initiatives we have delivered during 2019.”

Watts started out as business development director for Collinson’s insurance and assistance divisions. He went on to serve as commercial director and now will head the insurance strategy – developing the travel and health propositions while also supporting the company’s broadened underwriting focus into other insurance lines of business.

“It’s a great opportunity to lead the insurance executive and be at the helm of a successful team of insurance experts,” commented Watts, whose credentials include time spent at Aviva, AXA, and Lloyds Bank.

“I’m very much looking forward to bringing some fresh perspectives and continuing our strategic vision to provide truly competitive and compelling propositions for our clients and their customers.”
