Global products and services company CPP Group has today welcomed Carl Carter (pictured) as the new CEO of its UK business. Subject to regulatory approval, Carter will succeed the semi-retiring UK MD Michael Whitfield who will remain with the group, taking on a strategic consultancy role to support the growth of its insurance business.

Carter is a familiar face in the profession, having most recently worked as MD of the wholesale and retail broker, Voyager Insurance Services, which encompasses a variety of direct to consumer and direct to business insurance brands. With almost three decades of marketing, development and senior executive leadership experience within the insurance, assistance and financial services sectors, he is familiar with working closely with existing and new brands to deepen commercial relationships and expand product lines.

Leeds-headquartered CPP Group UK, which launched in 2018, entered the insurance broker market in September 2019 and is continuing to build its reputation as the go-to provider of ancillary insurance products and services in the UK.

Commenting on the appointment, CPP’s group CEO Jason Walsh, noted that Carter will continue the process of integrating the group’s legacy and ongoing operations in the UK, alongside driving commercial aspirations in its home market. Carter brings extensive knowledge of, and connections with, the insurance and wider financial services sector, he said, as well as significant business development and marketing experience.

Meanwhile, Carter said he is delighted to be joining CPP at this pivotal moment in the development of its UK operation and the group has some exciting plans to drive the business forward and to provide real value to its partners and their customers.

“The re-entry into the UK domestic market for new business since 2018 has seen good progress being made and we have a strong portfolio of insurance products and services which we’re planning to build on,” he said. “This includes the portfolio of Blink Parametric, part of the wider CPP Group, which provides great opportunities for delay and disruption assistance for travellers.

“I look forward to working with the talented team here, our underwriting partners, and with all of our existing and new partners over the coming years.”
