Asian mega-insurer AIA has named football icon David Beckham as global ambassador for its AIA Vitality campaign, which aims to help the people of the Asia-Pacific region live healthier lives.
 
As global ambassador, Beckham will be present at several of AIA’s community and business activities for its customers, agents, partners, and employees, demonstrating the importance and benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. He will also feature in the insurer’s advertising campaigns.

AIA Vitality is the insurer’s initiative to promote health and fitness among its customers, providing rewards including enhanced benefits and premium discounts to policyholders that actively pursue health and wellness activities.
 
Mark Tucker, AIA’s president and group CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome
David as AIA’s Global Ambassador. David is an incredibly successful global sporting icon, a committed family man and is hugely respected for his longstanding community and charity work; most notably as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador over the past 12 years.”

Beckham, who retired from professional football in 2013, continues to be one of the world’s most famous sports figures. In his 20-year career, he has played for the England national team and several big-name clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and LA Galaxy.
