Insurance platform provider EIS has appointed Rory Yates as head of strategy for EMEA.

According to EIS, Yates was named in the role in order to help the company grow its operations and go-to-market in the EMEA regions by working closely with partners and clients.

Yates has 24 years of experience across sectors such as technology and banking, and has worked at companies including WPP, Cognizant, and Santander. He joins EIS from DXC, where he helped transform client businesses with in-depth analytics & AI, consulting, UX & UI and digital engineering, a release said. Yates has also served in several digital insurance firms, including Cahoot, Monitor Media, and Ninety.

In addition to his role in helping insurers succeed in a digital world, Yates will also focus on advancing EIS’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies. He has two decades of experience in ESG, most recently founding digitalpoverty.co.uk and spearheading the creation of the E-Alliance at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26. Yates also had a hand in developing PAS440 - a guide on ‘Responsible Innovation’ - with the British Standards Institute.

“As EIS continues to expand across Europe, I’m excited to help the company transform insurance companies and create modern, customer-first offerings, and build the true ecosystem insurer with our strategic partners,” said Yates.

This is EIS’s second key senior hire in six months; last November, the company appointed Rupert Jarron to the role of managing director in EMEA. Jarron also joined EIS from DXC, where he previously served as head of strategic engagement and sales for UK, Ireland, Israel, Middle East, and Africa.
