Former non-executive director of Aviva Life UK Alison Hutchinson CBE has been named as an independent non-executive director of mutual LV=.

Hutchinson, who has extensive experience across IT and financial services, will be part of the remuneration committee of LV=’s board. She is the chief executive at fintech charity The Pennies Foundation and also serves as a non-executive director of the Yorkshire Building Society.

The new board member worked for the likes of IBM and Barclays Bank, and also held the position of CEO at specialist mortgage provider Kensington Group. She was awarded a CBE for services to the economy and charities in 2016.

“Alison is an experienced non-executive director with a wealth of knowledge from a range of leading IT and financial services organisations,” noted LV= chairman Alan Cook. “This is an important point in the growth of LV= as we begin a new strategic partnership with Allianz.”

Cook described Hutchinson as “a very welcome addition” to LV=’s board.

The mutual insurer and Allianz recently announced the completion of the first stage in their strategic partnership, which saw the latter acquire a 49% stake in LV=’s UK general insurance businesses.
