Gallagher is growing its capabilities in the UK’s premier economic hub with the appointment of Neil Williams (pictured) as commercial director. Based in London, he reports to Simon Waine, regional director for the London and South East team.

In Williams’ new role, he is responsible for cultivating new business opportunities among large corporate businesses in the region, as well as advising clients on their risk and insurance requirements and providing them with tailored solutions, a statement from Gallagher said.

“Neil brings with him an excellent reputation within the insurance industry, as well as a wealth of knowledge of the specialist risks faced by our large corporate clients, so we are delighted that he will be at the forefront of our business development activity in this space,” said Waine. “We are committed to bringing the highest calibre talent on board, and this senior appointment is a clear demonstration of our strategy to invest in industry-leading talent and provide our clients with unrivalled expertise.”

Williams joins Gallagher after 23 years with rival broker Aon, where he specialised in providing insurance and risk management support to FTSE 100/250-listed businesses and companies with turnover exceeding £100 million.

“Large corporate businesses are facing increasingly complex contractual, supply chain, operational and environmental risks,” Williams said regarding his appointment. “Organisations require a tailor-made approach to insurance and risk management, and by working with a specialist broker, they can be confident they have the right insurance in place and access to advice when needed. I’m delighted to be joining Gallagher, which has significant experience in partnering with large corporate clients, and I look forward to working with the team to further develop our current offering and take our proposition out to new clients.”
