In order to aid the further development of its UK retail division, Gallagher has made a number of leadership appointments for the unit.

Steve Risk has been appointed regional managing director of the South West, which is home to its specialist marine business, Coleman Marine, as well as its specialist trade credit practice plus regional offices in Swindon, Gloucester, Bristol, High Wycombe and Exeter. Risk will take responsibility for managing these offices from Patrick O’Connell, who transitions into a chairman role for the region after serving as regional manager for the South West and the company’s real estate practice.

Simon Waine has been named regional managing director for London and the South East. He ran Gallagher’s UK retail London offices in Central London, Croydon, Guildford and Luton, but in his new, expanded role, he will also administer the Chelmsford, Ipswich and West Malling (Kent) branches.

Jon Phillips has been tapped to serve as regional managing director of Gallagher’s specialist real estate practice, based in the South. He will have overall responsibility for the company’s real estate offering, and will continue to lead the specialist real estate and legal indemnities teams in London, Bristol, Borehamwood and Guildford.

Tim Devine has been promoted to regional managing director for specialist public sector & education (PSE), communities and social housing practices. He was previously a managing director for PSE and communities.

Rob Enock has also been promoted to the role of regional managing director of the South Coast. Previously serving as managing director of Gallagher’s Chichester location, his expanded role will also see him manage the Poole, Guildford, Southampton, Hedge End and Isle of Wight offices.

David Anderson, meanwhile, has been appointed as commercial director, promoted from his previous role as managing director for the East region. He will work alongside the regional managing directors to grow Gallagher’s business across the South, a release said.

Susie Day was named marketing director for the South, previously leading the marketing activity for Gallagher’s niche businesses.

All of the new leaders will report to Gary Fletcher (pictured top), managing director of the South for Gallagher’s UK retail division.

“Our business in the South has seen strong organic growth over recent years and these appointments enhance my leadership team and give us a springboard for further profitable growth – both organic and through acquisitions,” commented Fletcher. “I am particularly pleased that we have filled these key roles with existing members of the Gallagher team, demonstrating the strong talent we have in the business and our commitment to career development.
