Carlisle-based H&H Insurance Brokers has made a significant acquisition as it ramps up its specialist coverage in the agricultural sector.

The company has acquired livestock insurer Armitage Livestock Insurance Agency Ltd with the latter’s former owner Jacinta Nastali set to continue as part of the H&H team providing insurance cover for livestock along with other insurance products available through the H&H Insurance Limited business.

“We are delighted to welcome Jacinta to our team,” said John Noone, managing director of H&H Insurance Brokers. “Jacinta has over 30 years of knowledge and experience in livestock insurance and has a great reputation in the industry. HHIB Ltd already have, with our connections to our sister livestock auctioneering business Harrison & Hetherington, a significant livestock insurance offering which we brand as ‘in-Livestock’.

“This specialist brand is now well known within the pedigree industry as we have grown this significantly in recent years. Working with Jacinta’s wealth of experience will give us the opportunity to not only grow this specialist livestock brand but also to develop her customer base with additional insurance products. Armitage is well known for Alpaca insurance cover too which fits in well with our portfolio.”

The new arrangement actually became effective back on December 01 – with the announcement only just released to the public – with Nastali expressing her enthusiasm about the move and reassuring her existing customer base that they will reap the rewards.

“I know H&H Insurance Brokers well, having had contact with them over many years and I am happy to be joining the company which is dedicated to looking after its customers with a personal service,” she said. “I shall still be managing my customer base going forward but with the added backup and support of a larger business which will allow me to provide an even better service and product offering to my existing customers.”
