Hiscox, which opened its first office in Dublin in 2008, marks this week with a move to South Docks.

From the South City Centre’s Mount St Crescent, Hiscox Ireland has made the switch to new premises located within the Observatory Building at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. This as the Dublin arm, which has grown to a workforce of 16 people from just two initially, continues to expand.

“With a decade on-the-ground and a strong local broker network established, plans to grow the team by a further 50% over the coming months are well underway,” announced the specialist insurer.

“Part of this growth is due to structural changes that Hiscox is making as part of its preparations for Brexit, with Hiscox Ireland establishing its own claims team locally, as well as employing additional underwriters in 2019.”

Hiscox Ireland managing director Richard O’Dwyer noted that they already have a strong foothold in the Irish market, supported by an established team in Dublin, and that they are excited to see it grow.

“The autonomy that Brexit will bring to Hiscox Ireland is an exciting next step in our journey, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners for their support over the last decade, and during the next,” he said.
